FAQs

CAN I BRING MY CHILD WITH ME?

Sorry, children are not allowed to accompany you during your procedure. We love kids, but permanent cosmetics is performed in an environment that can be potentially very dangerous for them. We care about their safety!

MIRCROBLADING & NANO BROWS

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow procedure.  The procedure is performed by manually depositing pigment superficially in the upper region of the dermis (skin) using a pen-like tool, which has needles fused together in a linear grouping. The tool is used to manually draw individual, crisp, hair-like strokes to give the appearance of a natural, fuller, and beautiful brow.

WHAT ARE NANO BROWS?

Nano Brows are similar to Microblading, but are created using a machine. Pigment is deposited slightly deeper, giving it a longer lifespan. It is an excellent alternative for individuals with oily skin, aging skin or skin that is less tolerant of the Microblading procedure.

WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM MICROBLADING / NANO BROWS?

Anyone who wants fuller, thicker, more beautiful eyebrows is a candidate.  The procedure creates an extremely realistic 3-D look to enhance the existing hair or add to areas that are lacking it. It can also be a great help to individuals with alopecia, or who are post chemotherapy, postnatal, or suffering from stress, depression, or thyroid issues leading to loss or thinning of brows.

WHAT MAKES MICROBLADING DIFFERENT FROM A TATTOO?

Microblading only reaches the first thin layer of the skin and is temporary, versus a tattoo that is embedded deeper and has a permanent effect.  It is done manually, not with a machine, allowing for great control and detail.  The technique is used with pigment that is better tolerated by the skin and fades out naturally, not ink which can fade or dull to an undesirable color.  Already had an eyebrow tattoo procedure done?  Microblading is still an option!  Color correction is a service offered by Litwin Cosmetic Solutions that allows an existing tattoo to be lightened to the point that it can be replaced with Microblading. Clients that will need corrective work done from a previous procedure or tattoo will need to schedule their appointment with Master Artist Shaena.

DOES MICROBLADING / NANO BROWS HURT?

Generally no.  A numbing cream is applied beforehand to make the client’s procedure as comfortable as possible.

HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING / NANO BROWS LAST?

Results vary but you can typically expect Microblading to last one and a half to three years, depending on the person’s skin type.  Typically a touch up is performed eight weeks after the procedure to ensure the best result, and is included in the initial price.  To keep a great shape and lasting pigment it is recommended to get an enhancement annually. Nano Brows can last two to six years, depending on skin type and aftercare. This procedure also requires a touch up eight weeks later, included in the price.

HOW LONG DOES THE MICROBLADING / NANO BROWS PROCEDURE TAKE?

The process usually takes three to four hours.

WHAT SHOULD I AVOID AFTER A MICROBLADING / NANO BROWS PROCEDURE?

WHO IS NOT A CANDIDATE FOR MICROBLADING / NANO BROWS?

Those that are pregnant or breastfeeding are not advised to undergo the procedure due to difficulty retaining the pigment and safety of the unborn child. If you are on certain antibiotics or suffering from certain types of diabetes, pigment retention issues could be encountered. Individuals undergoing cancer treatments will need to undergo the procedure before starting treatments or after completing and recovering from them (potentially up to two years after). Do not take blood thinners (i.e. Aspirin) or drink coffee prior to the procedure. Those that use Acutane are not candidates for the procedure. Clients should be at least 18 years of age due to growing and changes still occurring to the face and body at younger ages. Botox should be avoided 2 week prior and 2 weeks post procedure. Microblading and Nano Brows cannot be done on areas of skin that contain a birthmark, mole, skin tag, or other similar skin conditions. If there is a question, please call us before booking.
